Three Whale Boats Conception Bay, Newfoundland, Canada On a winding coastal road way between the little town of Holyrood and a place called Beacon Cove, a visitor will be surprised by a rusty old bow sticking out of the water. For divers, however, this is a sign that they have arrived at their destination - the site that contains not one, not two, but three old rusty boats that are quite a delight to dive. We got to this site at the end of long day with the 6pm sun sitting low on the horizon. With the yellow kelp like growth around the wrecks and rays of sun penetrating the murky waters, the sight was surreal. Not to much fish life on the wrecks, but the still a fun easy dive. |
